People hear their music almost everywhere, use their mobile phones everywhere, and sometimes watch TV on small screens everywhere. This website wants to be a source of information and a place for discussion for those who seek the remaining quiet places. It is run by a PIPEDOWN initiative - a growing movement of people speaking out their wish for more quietness in public places.

Wir arbeiten derzeit einen Standard für ruhige Hotels aus. Dieser Standard kann den “Stillen Tourismus” in jenen Regionen fördern, die vielleicht nicht die “üblichen” Touristenattraktionen haben wie: einen See, das Meer, viel Natur oder tolle Sehenswürdigkeiten.

We are working on a Quiet Hotel Standard ( Quiet Hotels Standard ), which could increase tourism to areas (worldwide) who do not have the “usual” tourism offers like lakes, culture, beautiful nature.
